Founded in the summer of 2026, Wildflower Pediatrics has a dedicated and experienced team who are all committed to the health and happiness of your children.
Rebecca R. Boening, MD
Dr. Rebecca Boening “Dr. B” grew up in Chico (Chico High School Class of 2005) and studied Biochemistry and Anthropology at UC San Diego. She attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean and completed her pediatric residency at Valley Children's Hospital, in affiliation with Stanford Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined Dr. Reid's pediatric practice in 2020 and opened Willows Pediatrics in 2024. Passionate about serving the community she calls home, Dr. Boening opened Wildflower Pediatrics in July 2026. Dr. Boening splits her time between Willows Pediatrics and Wildflower Pediatrics. Dr. Boening is also on staff as a pediatric hospitalist at Enloe Medical Center. Dr. Boening has a special interest in newborn care and adolescent medicine. Outside the office, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Nick, and their three children, whether that's backpacking in the Sierras, cross-country skiing, or swimming in Bidwell Park.

Sara Mellum, PA-C
Sara grew up in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania and studied at Saint Francis University, where she completed a five-year program combining undergraduate coursework with a Master of Physician Assistant Science. As part of her training, she completed clinical rotations across Pennsylvania in a variety of medical settings, always knowing that she was interested in pediatrics. Sara started her career with Dr. Reid at Willows Pediatrics in 2017. She calls Chico home and enjoys caring for patients both at Willows Pediatrics and Wildflower Pediatrics. She loves working with children and watching them thrive as they become healthy young adults. Outside the office, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their three children, whether in their backyard with their chickens and dogs or up at Lake Almanor.

Monica Riccomini, FNP
Monica was born in Huntington Beach, California and has called Chico home since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico, and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Monica began her career as a public health nurse in Reno and has worked as an ICU nurse at Enloe Medical Center. She found her passion in pediatrics, where she has practiced since 2009. She is passionate about educating and empowering families to help their children achieve positive health outcomes. Outside the office, she loves reading, tending to her houseplants, painting, and playing soccer with her husband and three daughters.

Katie Colvin, FNP
Katie grew up in Chico and earned her higher education across California State University, Chico, Bellarmine University and Samuel Merritt University, completing both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career caring for patients in surgery, mother-baby, pediatrics, and home health before focusing her practice exclusively on pediatrics. Katie is passionate about caring for children and family-centered care. She calls Chico home and enjoys caring for patients both at Wildflower Pediatrics and Willows Pediatrics. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, and their four dogs, along with shelling on the Gulf Coast.

Stacey Riley, FNP
Stacey grew up in Chico (Pleasant Valley High School alum) and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico. She began her nursing career caring for adult patients in the Bay Area, and it was her time in the pediatric emergency department at California Pacific Medical Center that sparked her passion for pediatrics. That experience led her to earn her Master of Science in Nursing at Simmons University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Stacey and her husband returned to Chico to raise their family, and she has cared for families as a nurse practitioner in Chico since 2021. She brings experience, compassion, and a warm smile to every patient visit. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children and mini Goldendoodle, dancing to live music, and reading.
